What's New

January 2010 - Well a new decade and a new look for the website. My thanks to Alex and Charles, my nephews for all their input - they are the family geeks- and to my husband who has put up with me disappearing for hours to play with the website.

10 January
- Well its a store cupboard staple Store Cupboard Salmon Fishcakes something easy and simple when you can’t be bothered

17 January -
A few tweaks to the site due to some layout problems more recipes coming soon - but just had a knee op so rather difficult to sit too long and type!!

21 January -
Still sitting with my knee up, but Tu B’Shevat is approaching so I have posted my Millenium Pie (also known as Tu B’Shevat Pie - its a vegetarian supper dish packed with winter veg, chickpeas and dates - interested.  The pastry makes good baked borekas too.

7 February  its been a grotty couple of weeks and I have not been doing much cooking or computing as I can’t find a comfortable position for my knee - but its now finally beginning to feel like it belongs to me.  So I am now thinking of the approach of Purim and have uploaded Chicken & Chickpea Pilau  being my take on a Persian pilaff and that’s were Purim began

15 February - one of my husband’s favourite desserts as its our anniversary Chocolate & Pear (Cherry) Sponge Tart sometimes I use cherries in this - remember to stone them

4 March - an old time Pesach favourite with a twist - carp is a sustainable fish and is fashionable once more so try this as you can make it in advance and it’s also good for Shabbat cold or at the Head of the Year at Rosh Hashannah Baked Stuffed Carp what’s more it also doubles as Baked Gefilte Fish
