I don’t always remember to buy g/f porridge but always seem to have a large bag of pre-washed rice flakes as I can obtain them at a reasonable price in the Asian shops.
50g (2oz) rice flakes
250ml (9fl oz) milk or water or combination
Small knob of butter
Pinch of cinnamon
¼ tsp of salt
If the rice flakes are not pre-washed, rinse them in cold water and drain.
Place all the rice, liquid, butter and salt in a pan or microwave bowl and either cook on the hob or on 70% power in the microwave for 5 minutes. Stirring occasionally on the hob or half way through in the micro.
Serve with some cream or milk, sugar, and if you wish flavour with more cinnamon or honey or raspberry jam
For a change add some grated chocolate or choc nut spread
